Hello, Reader!
I am so happy to introduce and present the birth of my newest creation: Floressence: the soulful essence of flowers to you! A 54 card set oracle. A floral divination tool.
The journey began in January 2018, when I began to draw mandalas. This healing and creative exploration process resulted in the freeing up of more creative energies and the inspiration from Spirit to produce this oracle deck to share the beauty of nature and the wisdom of flowers.
Buddha said, "When we will look at the miracle of a single flower clearly, our whole life will change." What did he mean? How could one flower change our whole life? I have been meditating on this quote for some time and the revelations have, indeed, been astounding. Many a flower has had this power on me. And I have allowed it because it has been so enjoyably enlightening. Early Reveal: Another book is in the works as we speak.
For many years, I have been growing and photographing flowers. Traveling and visiting parks also has allowed me the opportunity to capture these jewels. People would observe my obsessive passion with flower photography and ask me, "So, Saira, what do you do with all those pictures?" I smiled and shrugged my shoulders. I really didn't have a plan. I just loved taking the pictures and looking at them later. Each bloom is a unique experience and only lasts a short while. With photography, we can enjoy nature’s fleeting and ever-changing beauty anytime we want.
Eventually, I did get around to "doing" something besides looking at the pictures. They brought me such joy, I knew I had to share them with others. I did find ways to share them through websites and other places. I love creating products for people to enjoy the same beauty that I have appreciated for years. In my book, "Seek Joy, Find Beauty, Share Love", I offer the images with some words for thought. It always fascinates me that a reader opening up to any page will find a personal, timely and relevant message. There is an unseen energy, a certain magic, that prompts them to open the book to just that page. The flowers themselves seem to have a soulful essence to them. I wanted to share this magic some more.
Early in 2018, I came across the idea of a card deck, an oracle, and felt that it captured all the elements of the book in a more interactive way, something card readers have known for centuries. While I scanned through thousands of my images, some drew me in as I meditated on them for messages that future readers would need to hear in their time. 54 flowers jumped out with meanings to share. And so, Floressence: the soulful essence of flowers cards were born. I pray that you find the secrets they hold for you.
As an Indie Author and now an Indie Cards Creator, I want to thank you for supporting independent entrepreneurs. It takes bold courage to step outside a secure job environment to venture out on your own and take the plunge into the risky unknown that is entrepreneurship. Riskier still, when you are a shy, private person and have products which demand you "put yourself out there" for all the world to see. Perhaps that has been the bigger leap for me, and all the more rewarding for having done it. Hopefully, I can serve as inspiration to you, that if I can do it, you can achieve your dream of freedom and creativity which comes from having your own business.
Even an independent entrepreneur does not do everything alone. There are helpers seen and unseen. I am lucky to have a team of friends and family who made this project possible. I want to thank God, my whole family, and give special thanks for their direct support. Gratitude goes to Safiq, Heather, Shelina, Jim, Sonya, Gayle, Charlene and Kathryn!
